Starting point of this presentation are the two paintings by von Pochmann, which have belonged to the holdings of the Galerie Neue Meister for a long time, but due to lack of space are seldom exhibited. A painted self-portrait that was already acquired in 1847 has been part of the gallery’s war losses since 1945. With the help of selected loans, a concise overview of the oeuvre of the portrait and history painter, who has been little noticed before, can be achieved.
